Shave the Day
Shave the Day is a first person barber simulator made to explore the action of shaving under different contexts. Shave people, sheep, llamas, trees, bears and more! This project was built in 4 days for Design Week, a game jam hosted by Sheridan College.

Shave people in a barbershop!

Clear paths by trimming hedges and trees!

Shear sheep, llamas, bears and more!

A world filled with easter eggs :)

Design Process - Defined by Limitations!
We did not have a programmer, we were all 2D artists. How did we make a first person 3D game?

We started by brainstorming in Miro- collaborating by riffing on each other's work

I pitched the idea of limiting the tools to just one and using it in different contexts

We did not know how to cut 3D meshes at runtime. We were considering pivoting to 2D but then I had an idea!

"What if we had a bunch of 3D spheres out in space and we turn on their gravity if we detect a collision?"
Alpha build to test the concept. Programming by Gio

3D Art - Maximising Appeal
I was responsible for creating most of the 3D models and defining the style of the game!

I started by drawing concept art in Procreate

I wanted the human characters to be versatile enough to adapt to variations in skin and hair color but still distinct and expressive. I struck that balance by emphasising the eyes
